CENTRAL TEXAS PUBLIC SAFETY HOCKEY TEAM PLAYS HOCKEY FOR CHARITY


An exciting game is in store as our own Central Texas Alliance Public Safety Hockey Team plays the San Antonio Fire Department Hosehounds ice hockey team at 3:15pm on Saturday, March 15, 2008, at the Chaparral Ice Center at 14200 North IH 35. The game will benefit Roger Dennis Jr. Roger was a San Antonio Fire Department Firefighter/Paramedic. On Friday, February 29, 2008, Fire Engineer Roger Dennis Jr. died while on duty as a paramedic at Fire Station #40 in San Antonio, Texas. He was a thirty-four year veteran of the San Antonio Fire Department. Any excess proceeds will be donated to the Dennis family.


The team, made up of members of local Police, Fire, EMS & Military agencies, is a non-profit organization created to get local public safety employees together to have fun playing hockey and to raise money for worthy causes. At this time the association consists of two teams. Team 2 consisting of beginners and players new to hockey will play at 11:45am on March 15 at Chaparall Ice. Team 1 will play the main event at 3:15pm.


Admission to both games is free with donations of any amount accepted to benefit the Roger Dennis family.

The team would like to invite the public to attend this Saturday's games and also encourages input from the public regarding worthy causes that we may assist with in the future. Any support or assistance from the community in the form of sponsorship or donations would be much appreciated.
