Today (June 26, 2008) marks one of the greatest U.S. Supreme Court decisions in history. In a 5-4 ruling the Court decided in favor of Heller and citizens who choose to lawfully defend themselves, their families, and their property.

Our Founding Fathers wrote this as an individual right, they intended it to be an individual right, and the Court is now acknowledging that right.-NRA

In the case of District of Columbia v. Heller (D.C. is a small area past Dallas on the right coast), Heller sued the District after being denied his application to carry handgun in his private residence. Heller who is a private security guard was told that he could only carry while on duty, and would have to secure the firearm in a vault prior to leaving work. Heller along with other non-felons were and still are allowed to possess long guns, however the practice was still frowned upon by the District's Officials.

This case has been the topic of converstation with every gun owner, dealer, manufacturer, and activist for some time now. But with respect to our country's laws the process was legit. Do we as citizens have the right to possess any type of firearm? Do we have the right to "bear arms" even while not in active war? The answer is "Yes", we each have the individual right to possess firearms, including handguns. The federal laws can restrict some types of weapons which is completely understandable.

In light of this ruling, any person who takes a Concealed Handgun License Course from KimberKoch, will have all the ammunition needed for the course provided at no additional cost. This will include all calibers from .380 to .45

Just a way of saying thanks...

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.-United States Constitution 2nd Amendment
